AN/TPQ-30 (CWAR) — Continuous Wave Acquisition Radar for HAWK System

I’m pleased to present my detailed 3D project: a recreation of the AN/TPQ-30, also known as the CWAR (Continuous Wave Acquisition Radar).

This unit is a critical component of the MIM-23 HAWK air defense system, specifically designed to cover the low-altitude zone. Specializing in Doppler effect detection, the CWAR suppresses ground clutter to acquire low-flying, fast-moving targets.

Technical Specifications integrated into the model:
Band: Operates in the J-band.
Power: 400 Watts.
Range: Effective detection up to 70 km.

This model was specifically created as a hard-surface environment prop for a flight simulation mission. Since the player will primarily view this asset from significant distances (mid-to-far range), the development focus was heavily on silhouette readability and aggressive geometry and texture optimization.

My artistic goal was to maintain technical accuracy and visual fidelity in the silhouette and key details, ensuring it looks robust as a threat object or target from the air, while keeping performance high for complex simulation environments.
